He's right....it's all about patience and discipline. Learn from your mistakes and don't try to be too cheap when you know you're buying a solid company for the long-term

Got a reply back from bunyip:

"Hi jungleman. Vacation was great, should have stayed longer as the weather at home is really cold. This has been a really good week for my dividend account, so far, TRP up 6%, AGF up 25% and COS up 36%. I'm glad there was some interest in the interview but there doesn't seem to be any questions which i would have been more than willing to answer. I bought some more BNS today and will be picking more MFC next week. Good investing. B"

Excellent interview. I must say it is good that mutual funds is not a good investment method as it pays a lot of management fee. However, it is hard to dollar cost average with stocks.

Gold coins are a great investment now, I've been buying and selling for the last couple of years. Do you have any of those coins left from the 70's?

Bunyip shared his wisdom at the CB forum:

"I have been through declines like this before, some a lot worse.(much). As a dividend investor i look at them as buying opportunities. I have been buying PWF,MFC and BNS in the last few weeks and will be buying more BMO which didn't raise its dividend but by losing 40% of its share price its dividend is raised by a similar amount, presuming it doesn't cut the dividend. If BMO cut its dividend by 10-20% i would be a big buyer the next day. There are different styles of dividend investors,it depends what you are aiming to achieve. My measure of achievement is year over year dividend increase,it really doesn't matter what the portfolio is worth because i don't intend to dip into the principal and dividend increases hopefully take care of inflation. The only drawback to this style is when you croak you may be leaving a pile of money to an undeserving relative or maybe the SPCA but who cares when you're dead. Another style is to build a big portfolio and take out a fixed amount every year(4-5%)and hope it lasts you to the end.I think that is gambling on inflation, life expectency and quality of life. So to finish, everyone is different with different expectations, as long as the dividends keep rolling in i would say keep investing."
